The blog owner, Sarah, is incredibly talented in the realm of nail art, and has provided inspiration to so many nail polish fanatics, including me. I'm actually lucky enough to live in the same neighborhood with Sarah, and get to hang out with her every once in awhile. She's very sweet, social, and just plain fun to be around.
I decided to try one of Sarah's signature hand poses, though my hands don't look nearly as graceful as hers do... *sigh* :o)
Chalkboard Nails Houndstooth
(American Apparel L'Esprit and OPI Just Groovy)
I kinda of suck at stamping, but I'm determined to practice and get better at it. I was pretty happy with the results this time, even though they didn't come out perfectly.
Here is a picture of the inspiration (just in case she changes the background in the future. She's had quite a few really awesome ones so far!):
Sarah has actually had a bit of backlash of hateful comments and emails after having requested that a particular Instagram user credit her when using her pictures. Not an unreasonable request, but the IG user retaliated in a disgusting manner, and I feel so bad for Sarah having to deal with the aftermath. She works so hard not just on coming up with original creative designs, but also in the execution AND superb photography of them. She definitely deserves to be cited when her pictures are shared.
So I wanted to show her my support, and tell her just how much I personally love her blog and nail art.
You're amazing, Sarah!
I can't believe you did this for me! It's such a beautiful gesture and I am truly touched. <3 Thank you.

ReplyDeleteGo Chalkboard Nails! Keep up the great work, you both have amazing blogs x
ReplyDeletelove you both - i want to live in the same neighbourhood as the 2 of you !!! how does that not create a disturbance in the balance of the universe ?? xxx
ReplyDeleteThese are awesome!
ReplyDeleteSo cool!! Chalkboard Nails is one of my favorite blogs, so nice to see bloggers giving each other support =)
ReplyDeleteLove the manicure and the support you show for another blogger! The colors look lovely together. I don't stamp but I need to get my hands on a houndstooth plate-love the pattern. Sarah, don't let the photo stealers get to you on instagram. They're just jealous that they can't do nail art half as good as you. :)
ReplyDeleteYour stamping is wonderful!) This mani is just identical to Sarah's background!
ReplyDeleteAnd you are both amazing bloggers!
What a cute post! And I loooove the manicure ♥.
ReplyDeleteI love the mani, those colors are really lovely with that design! And such a nice thought behind your post :)
ReplyDeleteRecently joined IG as well, and the amount of cropped off/blurred watermarks and no credit given that I've seen so far is a bit shocking tbh, I don't get it.
You mean, Sarah wants credit for her own work? The nerve! >_<
ReplyDeleteSeriously, I can't even pretend to understand why someone would give her a hard time--she's eight layers of awesome. You totally nailed this mani, Goose!
This is really cute! I love the inspiration! Sarah's blog is amazing.
ReplyDeleteIt was just pointed out to me that the manicure I posted today looks a lot like yours, although mine doesn't have the touch of lavender that you and Sarah do! I really like the softness :)
